GLOBAL, ACROSS 2025 — In today’s world, inspiring senior IT decision-makers takes more than traditional outreach. For Thoughtworks, a company known for its culture of innovation, this meant finding a smarter, more personal way to connect with global leaders.

Working with The Ortus Club, Thoughtworks launched a global series of virtual masterclasses that brought executives together to explore how modern enterprises can translate technologies like cloud, AI, and data analytics into meaningful business results.

Partnering with AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft, each session combined practical expertise with candid discussion. Attendees shared real challenges, exchanged experiences, and reflected on how to lead transformation within their own organisations.

THE BRIEF

Turning Thought Leadership Into Connection

Thoughtworks wanted to build deeper relationships with enterprise leaders while strengthening its role as a trusted advisor on digital transformation. The aim was simple: to spark real, high-value conversations that could lead to lasting partnerships.

To make this happen, the series needed to:

  • Reach a global audience efficiently
  • Translate complex technical ideas into clear and relevant discussion points
  • Build meaningful connections that could support business growth

The Ortus Club’s experience in hosting executive discussions provided the foundation for a series that balanced strategy, learning, and relationship-building.

THE SETTING

Virtual, Yet Personal

Each of the eight virtual sessions was designed to foster focus and a sense of connection. Even online, participants were encouraged to share their own experiences and speak openly about the challenges of innovation, technology, and culture.

Executives joined from cities such as Singapore, London, São Paulo, Mumbai, and New York. The virtual setup made it possible to bring leaders together across time zones while keeping the feel of a curated, invitation-only experience.

THE GUESTLIST

Global Leaders Driving Innovation

The masterclasses gathered CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors, and Heads of Digital and Data from some of the world’s leading enterprises.

Participants included executives from Citigroup, HSBC, Wells Fargo, Cathay Pacific, Mastercard, Lenovo, Haier, PepsiCo, and Anheuser-Busch.

The mix of industries brought fresh perspectives. Each session became a space where technology, strategy, and leadership came together to discuss how innovation is evolving across sectors.

THE SPEAKERS

Expertise in Action

Each session featured Thoughtworks experts alongside industry partners from AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft. Together, they explored how organisations can manage complexity, modernise data systems, and create better customer experiences.

Their combined insight gave every discussion both depth and relevance, turning abstract concepts into actionable ideas.

THE TOPIC

Innovating at Scale with Thoughtworks

The series explored how organisations can achieve sustainable transformation through cloud, AI, and data-driven strategies. Discussions focused on:

  • Using data and AI to make faster, more informed decisions
  • Modernising legacy systems for agility and scalability
  • Creating unique customer experiences through technology
  • Strengthening collaboration between IT and business functions

Every session aimed to give leaders a clearer view of how innovation can be scaled with purpose and precision.

THE INSIGHTS

Technology, Culture, and Collaboration

Throughout the series, participants agreed that transformation is not only about technology. It also depends on people, culture, and the ability to adapt.

Technology as a Catalyst
Many executives agreed that tools like cloud and AI bring real value only when backed by clear strategy and leadership. As one participant put it, “Technology should serve the business, not the other way around.”

Collaboration and Alignment
Innovation thrives when business and IT teams share the same goals and communicate openly. Aligning priorities across departments came up repeatedly as one of the biggest drivers of long-term success.

Adaptability and Learning
Digital maturity grows through continuous learning. Organisations that invest in upskilling and give teams room to experiment tend to handle new challenges more effectively.

Partnerships and Shared Expertise
Working with trusted partners helps organisations learn faster. External collaboration offers new insights and practical examples that can accelerate transformation.

“Thank you The Ortus Club for a great evening of good food, wine and knowledge sharing. Loved the energy and the discussions through the evening.”
