On December 9, 2022, The Ortus Club celebrated another successful year filled with memorable knowledge-sharing experiences at our 2022 Christmas party. We invited our HR manager, Denise Foz, to share highlights from this momentous, fun-filled evening. Read below!
A Night to Remember
The 2022 Ortus Christmas Party was a stellar success, and everyone from the Manila office who came (myself included) had such an incredible time! The event had numerous games, prizes, and giveaways up for grabs, which many of our attendees enjoyed. From the delicious meals to the exciting activities and the announcements about The Ortus Club’s plans, our holiday celebration was, without a doubt, a night to remember.
I’m already counting down the days until the next one, but let me set the stage before we reminisce about how incredible the night turned out. The 2022 Ortus Christmas Party took place at Marquis Events Place in the Philippines on the 9th of December, in tandem with Ortus Christmas celebrations in Rome and Kosovo. Elegance and sophistication are what The Ortus Club is all about when it comes to organising knowledge-sharing events, and the same goes for their company parties. The venue was a sight to behold. A svelte black carpet unfurled across the hallway leading to the spacious, cosy party hall, where crystal chandeliers dangled above and cast jaw-dropping light across the room.
Outfits, Freebies, and Cameras
The company invited everyone to dress in their snazziest black-and-white cocktail attire, and a few noteworthy guests turned heads and garnered oohs and ahhs. Attendees from the other functions at Marquis that night wondered whether it really was a Christmas party or a red-carpet premiere.
As guests arrived, they were greeted at the hall doors with a small jar of specially curated Ortus stick candy, a custom Ortus shot glass, and the choice of downing one finger (or two, for the more brazen) of either tequila or Jägermeister. The Ortus shot glass was a festive touch, and everyone was eager to get their hands on it and kick the night off right.
The hallway turned into a lively scene of clinking glasses, camera flashes, and merrymaking; the atmosphere was nothing short of electric, and guests were already having a great time before they even set foot into the main event. The shots were a fun and exciting way to get the party started, and everyone was in high spirits as they made their way into the hall and to their tables.
The Highlights
A Word From Our Founders
A couple of the most notable highlights from the event were the welcome remarks by Sam Adcock and Jess Circi, founders of The Ortus Club and the 2022 Ortus Awards, both celebrating the growth and success the company achieved throughout the year.
The Ortus Raffle and Talent Show
Attendees also participated in the 2022 Ortus Raffle, where four lucky employees won a two-day, one-night stay at the Bangkok Hotel. The program culminated on an incredibly high, entertaining note with the 2022 Ortus Talent Show, where select employees put their talents on display through various performances, including a drag show, lip-sync music video, live musical numbers, and a comedy skit.
Everyone in attendance was also treated to a buffet line filled with delightful selections, such as pan-seared Norwegian salmon and French beans with salsa verde, beef belly with red wine reduction, and roasted pumpkin soup with cinnamon essence. Alongside these scrumptious dishes, an open bar where the finest wine, beers, and spirits flowed freely catered to guests who wished to toast their victories throughout the year all night long.
As if all that fun wasn’t enough, everyone was gifted with a goodie bag filled with memorable giveaways. On top of the Ortus shot glass and stick candies, guests received a custom-made Ortus egg Bluetooth speaker and a short yet meaningful note thanking them for all their contributions to the company’s success throughout the year.
‘Till Next Year
All in all, the 2022 Ortus Christmas Party was a night to remember, and I personally can’t wait for this year’s celebrations. I’d like to think that our celebrations and random nights out are a cut above those put together by other businesses. I mean, where else can you find gourmet selections served for dinner, huge prizes in store for the luckiest and most talented in the company, and, above all else, a community of like-minded professionals with whom you can enjoy and celebrate a most worthwhile kind of growth and success?
