The rise of industry 4.0 is underpinned by a massive increase in cyber-physical devices which become more and more interconnected as multiple parties control these devices and collect data from them, not to mention the rise in machine-to-machine communications. This shift means a greater focus on the convergence, alignment, and integration of IT and OT environments, as well as optimal security for the new resulting ecosystems.
