Death of the data center: Future-proofing with composability

Experts widely agree that data center infrastructure strategy must evolve to keep up with public cloud’s agility and efficiency. With workloads becoming more diverse and demanding and data growing faster than ever, service providers need high computation capabilities comparable to public cloud.

The multi-vendor model has caused data to be anywhere but in one place, and distributed computing has become the chosen way. The resulting challenge is twofold: making computing of disparate workloads possible and doing so efficiently, at minimum cost. Fortunately, expertise is readily available to help service providers adopt the speed and flexibility they currently lack.

  • How do service providers build and productize the data center for their future customer who requires high-density compute with the agility of cloud?
  • How do service providers commercially innovate with existing hardware? How quickly and easily can they address unanticipated customer needs?
  • How do service providers keep their customers’ data on-prem, versus moving to the cloud? Where do they need to take their data center over the next five years?
