Enterprise modernisation: a strategy for success
Three dimensions need to be brought together in a coherent strategy for a successful modernisation journey: people, processes, and technologies. Enterprise modernisation is often seen as a critical enabler for digital business, but getting it right isn’t easy. Improving legacy technology forces companies to re-examine business processes and organisational structures as well as technical systems.
Modernising technologies involves embracing new architectures, infrastructure and tools. Modernising processes is moving to Enterprise Agility, a space where business and IT feel like two sides of the same coin. Finally, on the people front, the need lies in developing internal digital capabilities and insourcing core parts of an organisation’s technology.
- What are the main challenges faced by organisations on their enterprise modernisation transformation journeys? How can they improve their agility?
- Which core capabilities should organisations re-insource, and how can they develop new ones internally?
- Data is often an untapped source of value. How can a modern data product and data mesh approach help in this space?
