Over the past few years, the concept of Zero Trust has gone from a mere theory to increasingly standard practice. Early Zero Trust products on the market focused on web applications but have expanded to work with a wider range of apps and protocols. Today, it helps significantly reduce the attack surface area for different organizations while improving user experience, flexibility, and adaptability.
The rise of more sophisticated threat actors, like those engaged in phishing, has warranted a Zero Trust approach. The FBI received around 324,000 phishing-related complaints and reported adjusted losses of $2.4 billion due to Business Email Compromise (BEC) attacks in 2021 alone. It is no surprise, then, that leaders are shoring up their defenses.
