The Neptune Dinner

The Ortus Club, in conjunction with Sprout, hosted the Neptune Dinner last March 15th at Gallery I in the New World Hotel, Makati. This was an exclusive dinner for leaders in prominent BPO companies within the Philippines. The evening was set up to offer a relaxed and intimate forum in which business leaders were to meet and network with other senior peers as well as discuss some of the biggest and most burgeoning issues facing the sector this year.

We discussed issues facing the BPO sector, predominantly from an HR standpoint.

This year, the BPO sector is predicted to generate 1.3 million new jobs and grow at a staggering 17%.

Having achieved and surpassed its target for 2015, the BPO community is now regrouping and looking to set its sights on new targets and plan out a new roadmap for the industry 2022. While many predict a continuation of the meteoric rise that we have enjoyed in the last decade, others are sure that growth cannot be sustained at such a rate.

One of the biggest challenges that is facing the industry today is talent. Many firms complain of ever-increasing attrition rates, the cost of employment is on the march and there is an increasing lack of key skills as the demand increases while the supply remains constant.
