Tomorrow’s capabilities with today’s tech: adopting new tools for on-prem

Public cloud offers various advantages, but many workloads are difficult to migrate to the cloud—and perhaps should not be migrated at all. While public cloud vendors continue to develop new ways of managing technology resources, many of these methods remain out of reach for the local data centre or are piecemeal, making them nearly impossible to integrate effectively. However, new technologies are emerging that may offer some of the agility needed to move as fast as the cloud without requiring a massive migration.

As organisations struggle with how and where to place their applications, there are many elements at play: risk and security, application refactoring, reskilling IT workers, and, of course, costs. All this must be considered against the backdrop of rapidly increasing volumes of data, increased competitiveness driving the need for rapid response, and the steady explosion of new paradigms and technologies to keep up with.

  • How do organizations plan for the future and the seemingly unending stampede of new technologies? What role does Composable Disaggregated Infrastructure play?
  • What are companies doing with legacy apps? How do they manage platform changes, changes in development methods, and operations moving to more automated methods like containers?
  • How could cloud-like agility and efficiency in the data centre transform a company’s approach to leveraging technology to win in the market?
