Our Senior Project Director and Team Lead
Gerielle has just celebrated her 1-year anniversary at The Ortus Club!
Since joining us as a new graduate, she has quickly developed her skills to become the experienced professional we see today, dealing with senior decision-makers worldwide on a daily basis.
Tell us about your current role at The Ortus Club and how you got there.
I had recently graduated and was actively looking for a job when I stumbled upon The Ortus Club’s job offer on my university’s Facebook group. What made the company stand out was that it was marketing a very different product, specifically creating knowledge-sharing discussions for business leaders all over the world.
After contacting The Ortus Club, I was invited to attend their recruitment day. Now, one year later, I am working as a Project Director, handling events in APAC, EMEA, and the US. At the age of 21, I feel excited to have been given the responsibility of liaising with C-level executives and senior decision-makers from both startup companies to big multinational organisations. It has been a steep learning curve and, since the pandemic hit, we have been busier than ever, but I love that my job brings new challenges every day.

What first made you join the Ortus team?
During the recruitment day, I discovered that the job offered the opportunity to travel. I was attracted by the idea of a more flexible work location which would give me the chance to experience other cultures.
Talking to some employees from the Ortus team during the recruitment day, I was impressed by how positive they were about their work-life balance. The Ortus Club is very open to different working arrangements and ensures that regular team events are held to build support and encouragement between staff, no matter where they are based.
What do you like most about working with The Ortus Club?
Despite The Ortus Club being a home of high-achievers, everyone works as a team, offering support to ensure each person has the help they need to reach their objectives. We value transparency and communication here, and asking for help is actively encouraged.
I love how the company gives us a lot of opportunities to grow. The Ortus Club is happy to consider requests to try out different departments if you feel you have strengths that can be further developed. Support is always at hand, which gives me the confidence to try new ideas and areas of work.
What’s one thing you are excited about, thinking about the future of Ortus?
The Ortus Club started as a small company, but growth has been so fast. Just last year, even with the onset of a pandemic, we managed to reach our 500th event! To continue this growth, we will need to recruit more staff, and I am looking forward to bringing them onboard, helping them to maximise their potential, as well as that of the company.
