Whether it’s your first or your fifteenth time hosting, a little preparation goes a long way. We’ve put together a few quick pointers that can help ensure the conversation is valuable not just on the day, but well after it ends.
Be prepared.
To make the most out of your event remember to go through the welcome pack to familiarise yourself with the guests before meeting them.
Be there early and set the tone.
Arrive 30-45 minutes before the event starts to ensure everything is to your liking. This also gives you a chance to connect with the moderator and go over the themes of the discussion. Use this time to welcome guests, greet them, and start building connections before everyone takes their seats.
Lead with intent.
Our roundtables are designed to be collaborative, not commercial. Share your expertise, but focus on learning. These sessions are about insights, not sales. Thoughtful questions help uncover valuable insights and build authentic relationships.
Settle on the perfect ice-breaker.
We’ve put together a blog post and a deck of cards to help get the conversation flowing. Whether it’s a fun fact or a question from the cards, it’s a great way to break the ice and get everyone comfortable right from the start.
Respect the moderator.
Let the conversation flow. Avoid side conversations while the main discussion is underway, there will be time to connect more informally before and after the session.
Have fun.
It’s always a good idea to stay until the event wraps up. Often, people stay for drinks or other activities afterwards. These moments can be a great way to continue conversations and make the most of the evening!
